Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a colorful mix of characters, and a gripping narrative showcasing angels, fiends, and malevolent powers growing in strength within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The third episode concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to begin their separate journey, apart from the other two tables.
This warrior group features the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that having everyone at one table would be impossible.
Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.
At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander might seem unsuited, but the developments of the third episode make it clear why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
First, the team understands precisely where to go next after a intense initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose death kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated the foes for his personal gain, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking Thimble, and stealing all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond the city, with Cyd close behind.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each member has a individual motive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and best friend, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and warns that it is a nasty location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could assist the party reach locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, The fighter swore a life debt to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him anywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are hunted by the authorities that govern the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- The warrior and The cleric defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.
This leaves them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.
